Experience powerful and often monumental works by New York-based artist Julie Mehretu, widely regarded as one of the most significant painters of her generation.

Exclusive to Sydney and presented as part of the Sydney International Art Series 2024–2025, this is the first exhibition dedicated to Julie Mehretu to be shown in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The exhibition features new and recent works, from large scale to medium format paintings, as well as works on paper dating from the mid-1990s to the present.

Drawing on histories of art and architecture, Mehretu’s work also speaks to urgent contemporary issues such as revolution, migration, global capitalism and climate change.
