Getting Here

TRAIN
The closest train stations are St James and Martin Place, both about 10 minutes walk to the Gallery.

BUS
Bus 441 departs from York St side of QVB and drops off near the Gallery. For timetable information, click here.

A courtesy bus departs from the Gallery entrance every 15 minutes from 7pm until close for the Domain Car Park, Martin Place, Wynyard and Town Hall. This service is only available when the Gallery is open late.

PARKING
There is metered parking available in the streets surrounding the Gallery. You can also park your car at The Domain Car Park which offers $6 off your parking after the first hour (Monday to Friday) when your parking ticket is stamped at the Gallery's information desk (see Art Gallery of NSW for T&Cs).

All public areas inside the buildings can be accessed by ramps and lifts (as well as stairs and elevators).

A permanent access ramp provides an alternative to the external stairs at the main entrance to Naala Nura, the Art Gallery's south building.

A ramp is positioned on the inside stairs and a Gallery staff member is available for assistance if required. Another wheelchair-accessible access entrance/exit is provided at the rear of the Gallery. A limited number of wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available for use.

Entry into and exit from Naala Badu, the Art Gallery's north building, is via an airlock accessed from Art Gallery Road. Access into Naala Badu does not require the traversing of any stairs. The Welcome Plaza and Entrance Pavilion of the new building have a gentle gradient.

There are three dedicated accessible parking spaces with access from the curb in front of our buildings. Two of these spaces are at the front of Naala Nura, the Art Gallery's south building. One is in front of Naala Badu, the Art Gallery's north building, and is available during Art Gallery opening hours. Two more spaces are located next to the Woolloomooloo Gate entrance to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, near the intersection of Art Gallery Road and Mrs Macquaries Road.

Next to the Gallery, the Domain Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, has accessible lifts and there is a bitumen path from its nearest lift to the Gallery’s rear access entrance.
