Stage and screen star Rachael Beck (Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables, Hey Dad!) performs a brand-new collection of monologues interspersed with songs and surprising anecdotes from some extraordinary Australian women.
Conceived with writer James Millar (Matilda the Musical), In Her Own Words features contributions from singer-songwriters Kate Miller-Heidke, Kate Ceberano and Dami Im, media icon Ita Buttrose, Paralympian Louise Sauvage, authors Sarah Wilson and Marcia Langton, OzHarvest visionary Ronni Kahn, Les Girls legend Carlotta, painter Yvette Coppersmith and more. It’s directed by Miranda Middleton (The Grinning Man), with musical director Amanda Hodder (Women of Troy).
Beck turns the spotlight on women in the arts, humanities, science, sport and politics to share their stories, in their own words.
★★★★ "superb... poignant... well realised."
